Official Juconi Christmas card
We were given the task of designing the official Juconi Christmas card to be sent to their supporters across the globe. The children in Nueva Prosperina worked together to make different Christmas puppets and backgrounds. Two designs were chosen to be made into cards. Extra cards were printed to sell next year as part of Juconi's fundraising.

Christmas Party at the Hacienda
The children's christmas party was held at a Hacienda in the countryside owned by the British Consulate.
The Children had an amazing day being waited on by men in white uniforms. There were clowns, a man on stilts and cowboys. The children could choose whether to play football, dance or ride the horses. The educators put on a production of Dicken's Christmas Carol, ironically Anna (the tallest person in the play) was Tiny Tim.
The kid's eyes popped out of their heads when they saw the food that was being served. There was a table straight out of a fairy tale with a huge chocolate cake covered in fruit, nuts and caramel and another table heaving with melons, mangoes, apples, papayas & bananas. All the children got take-away boxes for the left overs. It really was one of our favourite days here, seeing all the children staggering back to the bus carrying sacks of presents, food, sweets, prizes, fruit and cake.
Mexico
We're very excited about going to Mexico in January. We are going to run an 8 week pilot project with Juconi Mexico in Puebla. Juconi Mexico work with three different groups of children, Market working, Street working (the same as Juconi Ecuador) & Street living. We fly out on 20 January. We're looking forward to eating Mole (the savoury chocolate sauce - not the small burrowing creature!).
Glitter & Glue
One of our jobs was to co-ordinate the making of about 200 Christmas cards by the Juconi kids to send to their sponsors. There was a lot of glitter involved. Some of the designs included Christmas trees, the Nativity scene, Father Christmas as well as Snowmen which was a surprise to us as none of the children have ever seen snow.
End of year exhibitions
Last week, we had our final art clubs in 2008. We invited all the children and their families to view the work that had been made this year. We had a good turn out with parents coming to support their children. We are really proud of what the children have acheived this year and presented the children who have participated in the art club with certificates of acheivement.
